Super interesting book about the unknown and exploration in a post-apocalyptic world. Really my first time reading any thing science-fiction/horror and I thought it was pretty fun.

This is the first book of three in the Southern Reach series so, I plan on reading the next two. Although, the internet says the second book is pretty boring so I may just have to power through it because the third one is supposed to be really good.

There’s also a movie about this book, so I should definitely give it a watch.

Exploring Stockholm

Have spent the last few days exploring the city of Stockholm – one of the more unique cities I’ve been to.

It’s a really interesting blend of historical and modern, and is built right on the water. It has awesome food, shopping, and seems incredibly lively.

We also took a trip to the outskirts and had a summer party with traditional Swedish food which was fun. Lots of lingonberry and herring.

Engaged in Helsinki

Got engaged in the Helsinki Winter Garden to the love of my life today. Was a perfect day and somehow managed to keep the surprise up until the very end.

Despite it being 9am on a Tuesday, it was so joyful that it felt like a weekend.

Awesome book about deep-sea exploration & science fiction. Thought this book was super captivating. Not usually a fiction guy but I’m trying to get more into so that reading can be more casual for me – want to learn to just relax by reading as opposed to having to feel productive while doing it.

I guess the author was the same guy who wrote Jurassic Park, and that made a ton of sense because the parallels were pretty clear.
